Our Denali National Park itineraries were created by our seasoned staff, and are designed to guide you through your Alaska experience – whether you’re visiting the park for two days or a full week. You can pack it all into your visit, or pick and choose the activities and destinations that best suit your group’s interests – and sound like the most fun!
Day 1: Arrive in Anchorage and spend the night.
Day 2: Experience Alaska's scenic treasures on the Denali Star Train - Anchorage to Denali, 8:15 am - 3:45 pm. Stay the night in Denali at the McKinley Chalet Resort or McKinley Village Lodge. Dinner should always include the fun all you can eat Alaska Cabin Night Dinner Theater with shows at 5:30 PM or 8:30 PM.
Day 3: Take a morning tour deep into the heart of Denali National Park and Preserve. A Tundra Wilderness Tour offers spectacular scenery and many opportunities for wildlife viewing which makes it one of the most popular way to experience and understand Denali National Park. This 7 to 8 hour tour takes you 54 miles into the Park, within 30 miles of Mt. McKinley where on a clear day, you can view the entire mountain from base to summit.
Day 4: Begin your morning with a 3 to 4 hour guided hike beginning at the Denali Visitor’s Center. Our interpretive guide will share some basics about the unique history and attributes of Denali. From there, you’ll begin your four mile hike on the Rock Creek Trail, returning back to the Visitors Center via the Roadside Trail. That afternoon take Explore Denali’s invigorating Canyon Run rafting adventure. Located in the McKinley Chalet Resort, this 3 to 4 hour rafting trip takes you on Class III and IV whitewater rafting down 11 miles of scenic canyon and gorge. Rafting on the glacially fed Nenana River is fantastic experience for all ages.
Enjoy dinner at the Nenana View Bar and Grille or the Lucky Miss Saloon.
Day 5: Travel by rail from Denali to Anchorage on the Denali Star, 12:15 PM - 8:00 PM. Stay the night in Anchorage.
